On this eve of International women’s day, I take a pleasure to wish you all …..a very HAPPY WOMEN’S DAY…

So why we as Woman….. not love our own self, be selfish, have the right to talk about own health. Why we think of our children, our parents, our in-laws, family members’ health, comfort FIRST….and than OURS.

I would like each one of us to think about ourselves first as saying “God helps only those who help themselves.”

Some things which we need to look at once we enter 40s

  1. Period of Perimenopause means “around menopause” and refers to the time during which your body makes the natural transition to menopause, marking the end of the reproductive years..wherein changes in the flow of menses, irregular menses, hot flushes, mood swings, body discomfort with respect to eating habits, obesity, and such things start.
  2. Exercise regularly minimum of 45 minutes.
  3. Stop smoking and drink less alcohol. This habit is taking a very fast pace in urban lifestyle as the West is coming to the East.
  4. Get more sleep and try going to sleep and waking up at the same time each day.
  5. Get to a healthy weight and stay there.
  6. Get enough calcium in your diet.
  7. Ask your doctor if you should take a multivitamin. The role of homoeopathy in this phase of life is truly like a friend which takes away the pain and helps in smooth functioning at mind and body.

Medical tests which help in knowing ourselves at body level are

  1. Blood pressure
  2. Blood sugar.
  3. Breast exam and mammogram.
  4. Cholesterol profile.
  5. Stepping on the scales.
  6. Pelvic exam and pap smear.
