This pain may have a radiation to the groin or thigh. This is a griping type of pain.<\/p>\n<h5>CAUSES:<\/h5>\n<ul class=\"check-lst\">\n<li>Bladder or kidney or ureteric stones are the main reasons for Renal colic.<\/li>\n<li>Disease of the kidney e.g. hydronephrosis, polycystic kidneys, tuberculosis.<\/li>\n<li>Blood clot in the water or kidney or bladder.<\/li>\n<li>Inflammation of ureter.<\/li>\n<li>Foreign body in bladder.<\/li>\n<li>Inflammation of bladder.<\/li>\n<li>Infection of kidney, ureter, or bladder.<\/li>\n<li>Cancer.<\/li>\n<li>Some other diseases which may give similar pains like renal colic are:\n<ul class=\"arrow1\">\n<li>Inflammation of pancreas.<\/li>\n<li>Inflammations of gall bladder.<\/li>\n<li>Appendicitis (right side pain).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS:<\/h5>\n<ul class=\"bul-lst\">\n<li>Pain in the abdomen either right or left lower abdomen.<\/li>\n<li>Pain may radiate to the groin or thigh.<\/li>\n<li>Restlessness.<\/li>\n<li>Fever.<\/li>\n<li>Vomiting.<\/li>\n<li>Increase in frequency of micturition.<\/li>\n<li>Painful urination.<\/li>\n<li>Red urine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>DO&#8217;S AND DONT&#8217;S:<\/h5>\n<ul class=\"check-lst\">\n<li>Always consult a doctor if you experience any of the above symptoms.<\/li>\n<li>Do not self medicate.<\/li>\n<li>Hot pads or hot water bags over the abdomen may help to relieve pain.<\/li>\n<li>Diet and fluids may be taken depending on the underlying cause.<\/li>\n<li>If it is due to stones which is the most commonest cause then, Drink plenty of fluids at 3\/5 litres per day. Avoid things in diet which causes stones e.g. milk, milk products, red meat, fish, liver oils, chocolate, grapes, beans, strawberries etc.<\/li>\n<li>Hot water bags over abdomen help to relieve pain.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid strenuous exercise which get you dehydrated.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid Vitamin D supplements.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid antacids.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid increase salt intake.<\/li>\n<li>Urinate as soon as you get a urge .<\/li>\n<li>Empty your bladder after an intercourse to avoid any infection. Avoid using scented soaps of vaginal deodorants-they may give rise to infection.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a good diet to have good immune system. Practice good bathroom hygiene.
